graduate school

Tal vez in order to get myself going on really studying and preparing to take the GRE maybe I should just sign up for a date to take it.  Then I would provide myself a deadline.  Without deadlines sometimes it is hard to start a project.

I really need to schedule to take the GRE and do the final studying…..

I have perfected procrastination in regards to studying for the GRE.

1. Prepare to take the GRE ( 2 months)
2. Take the GRE
3. UPR-RP application
4. Decide which posesions will be 1) brought to PR 2) sold 3) placed in storage and where to store
5. Estimate cost to ship, store, and move
6. Investigate apartments and areas to live
7. Visit la isla, the university, speak with profesors, visit apartments, check out surf report, compare prices

Why are we planning a move to Puerto Rico?  Well the first reason is it is hot there and we love the heat and hate the cold.  But that does not answer the why Puerto Rico question.   I will be attending the Universidad de Puerto Rico- Rio Piedras and thus that is our “excuse” to move there.
Roger does not want to make our permanent home on an island so it will be a “short term” move.  At least that is the plan today.  So we plan to live there for 2 years.  After that 2 year period we will then most likely move to Miami and I will finish my PhD at the University of Miami.  Why Miami?  One because it is hot, we like hot and it is near the coast which we love and in Miami we will probably still be in the “spanish speaking world”.
There are a lot of things we need to investigate, plan and prepare for before we move.  Roger finishes his degree in May of 2009.  I will be starting at the Universidad de Puerto Rico in August of 2009.  It seems like a long way away the year and a half but we really have a lot to do to make it work and run smoothly.
